Obituary of Arthur "Big Daddy" Johnston
Arthur Cecil Johnston born in Tabusintac, NB on Jan 9, 1926 age 94yrs young passed away on June 23, 2020.
He was affectionately known as "Big Daddy" and lived in his own home in Lower Coverdale until June 6th when he moved to Serenacare on Briairlea Dr, Moncton.
Big Daddy will be missed by his immediate family Garry & Charleen Johnston, Dale & Maxine Johnston, Stephanie Johnston & Tyson Duck, Jessica & Chris Morrison their baby Matthew Arthur Levi Morrison (Great Grandson who Big Daddy affectionately called Little Arthur), all the extended family and friends who considered him their family, many nieces and nephews and his special friend Arlene Larocque and his dog Cooper.
Art had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed carpentry and built 2 of his own homes. He loved music, singing, dancing, his Antique cars and car shows, playing cards and was a frequent visitor to Cape Bald Packers for Lobster which he said "Miramichi Lobster" was the best. But most importantly he loved being with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Vickie and all of his sisters and brothers Emma, Janet, Agnes, Elva, Rita, Violet, Harry, Winson, Earl and Jimmy.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Susan and all her staff at Serenacare for their kindness, compassion and exceptional care of Art in his last days. We will be forever grateful to you all.
A celebration of Art’s life will be held at Tuttle Brother’s Funeral home on Sunday June 28, 2020 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm with a maximum of 50 people permitted.
Donation’s in Arthur’s memory can be made to the donor’s choice or Big Daddy would probably say "Treat yourself and get yourself some good Miramichi Lobster".
