Obituary of Brent Peter Joseph Devereux

Brent Peter Joseph Devereux, 53 years old, born August 12, 1963 passed suddenly and unexpectedly on June 10. He is survived by his loving wife Janice Aucoin and their 3 sons, Brennan (11), Austin (9) and Donovan (9); beloved son of the late Eugene Devereux and Ethel Devereux Arsenault, brothers Gene (Audette), Bob (Caroline), sisters Valerie (late Kenneth) Soucoup, Judy (Allan) Vautour, twin sister Barb (Ray Bourque) Daisley along with several nieces and nephews. Brent grew up in Moncton North and was very involved in minor sports and outdoor activities. He graduated from Harrison Trimble High School (Trojan football), attained a commerce degree from University of New Brunswick and a Master’s in Business Administration from Dalhousie University. His career encompassed many executive roles in banking, with Bank of Nova Scotia and TD Canada Trust throughout the Maritimes and Ontario. Brent considered his most important accomplishment to be that of a loving and caring husband to his wife Janice and father, coach and mentor to his 3 sons. He often expressed that his wife and children were the center of his existence. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Brent’s life will be held on Thursday June 15, at 2pm at St. Paul’s United Church, 404 Cleveland Avenue, Riverview, New Brunswick with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in memory of Brent, to P.R.O.Kids Riverview, 30 Honour House Court Riverview, NB, E1B 3Y9 (an organization that insures all children have the opportunity to play sports). On the day of the celebration, Brent’s sons will be collecting new sporting equipment (footballs, soccerballs, baseballs, basketballs, hockey sticks etc…) that they will then donate in memory of their sports loving Dad.
