Obituary of Bernice Rose Gibson LaPierre)

Surrounded by her loving family, Bernice Rose Gibson, (nee LaPierre) a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away very peacefully at her home in Serenacare, Moncton, NB and formerly of Riverview, NB on November 8, 2022. One of seven children, Harold, Gertrude, Wilfred, Arnold, Marie, Bernice and Irene. She was born and raised in West Chezzetcook, NS. She attended Normal School in Truro, NS and taught elementary school briefly before marrying her beloved husband Harold Leo Gibson, and moving shortly thereafter to Moncton. After a busy career of raising eight children, she worked at Eaton’s, Sears and the Moncton Hospital for many years. Throughout her life, she was an avid sewer and animal lover. In retirement she was a dedicated knitter, singer and piano player as well as being active along with her husband Harold in the Riverview Lions Club and the Riverview Lawn Bowling as well as the Bridgedale Seniors Club. She is survived by children Alan (Peggy), Valerie, Lynn, Terry (Denise), David (Kerryann), Mary Anne (Rick), Peter (Monette) and Nancy (Ron); seventeen grandchildren; five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harold of 59 years; six siblings and her beloved dog Dasa-her little pumpkin. In her 94 years she loved, was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Momma. We will meet again. A funeral mass and celebration of Bernice's life will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Riverview on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00pm Reception to follow immediately after the funeral mass at the Fr.
