Obituary of Greta D'Amours

Greta D'Amours, of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, February 06, 2020. Born in Boiestown, NB, she was a daughter of the late Murdock and Ellen (nee MacDonald) McCloskey. Greta, together with her late husband Paul, raised 4 children while enjoying a very interesting and exciting life. One of their life highlights was a posting in Bamako, Mali, Africa. Greta loved playing cards, listening to music, dancing and playing the piano. In her last few years, Greta was an active resident of People’s Park Tower, where she made many friends and enjoyed the many social events on offer there. Greta was a long-time member of the Holy Family Catholic Parish and a member of the Senior’s Club at People's Park Tower. Greta will be sadly missed by; one daughter, Janine D'Amours (Arthur Wood) of Rothesay; three sons, Kevin D'Amours (Karen) of Muscat, Oman, David D'Amours (Sandra) of Riverview and Andre D'Amours (Valerie) of Berry Mills; two sisters, Rita and Mona; grandchildren, Andrea, Tracy, Chris, Jacqueline and Rachel; great grandchildren, Emily, Cameron and Cohen. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul (October 2006); three sisters, Joan, Helena and Frances and one brother, Willard. Greta’s family would like to give a special thanks to all her friends at People’s Park Tower and the staff of The Moncton Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544 where visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 10am with Fr. Allison Carroll officiating. Donations in Greta’s memory to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, I.W.K. Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
