Obituary of Timothy Marven Creaghan

Timothy (Tim) Creaghan passed away peacefully at Moncton Hospital on March 7th. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the eldest child of Marven and Davida (Cunningham) Creaghan. Tim is survived by his wife of 37 years Debbie (Van Norden); daughter, Elizabeth; his mother Davida; his sister Tara Morrison (Bernie) of Saint John; brother Christopher (Ruth) of Quispamsis; also by his father in law and mother in law Stanley and Patricia Van Norden of Kelowna, BC; several nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of dear friends spanning the many places Tim & Debbie lived and travelled. Tim’s father Marven, predeceased him. Tim graduated from Harkins High School in Newcastle, attended UNB, then completed Air Traffic control training which led to a 35 year career with Transport Canada and Nav Canada initially in the Control Tower, followed by various management roles. He worked out of several locations in Eastern Canada, most notably Ottawa, Moncton & Gander Nfld., where he met his bride to be. Following retirement, Tim completed multiple consulting and training contracts in his field around the world. Tim was passionate about the game of golf, and an active member of the Moncton Golf & Country Club. He had a keen interest in theology and was a lay minister at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Riverview and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past member of the Moncton Rotary Club. Before and especially after retirement Tim’s other key interest was travel. He and Debbie have found numerous destinations, much of which has been explored using their motor coach, and all of which has resulted in a vast network of friends across North America. They shared a love for music and NASCAR, and would always be on the look out for a good concert or race along the way. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brother’s Riverview Funeral Home at 214 Pine Glen Rd. in Riverview, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8. Parish Prayers and sharing of memories will be held at the funeral home 7:30pm Tuesday evening. The funeral mass will take place at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 5 Fatima Dr. Riverview, on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm. with Fr. Charles Broderick officiating.
