Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Davidson

Margaret Elizabeth Davidson, born July 6, 1950 in Moncton, New Brunswick entered Heaven’s gates on August 19, 2020 at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer and a lifelong battle with mental illness. She is the daughter of Leonard William Davidson (deceased) and Jean Gretta Chapman (deceased). A mother of three children Jennifer Lee Landry (Sophie M. Landry) aged 46, Jeannie Elizabeth Bourgeois (Nicole Allain) aged 45 and Matthew Davidson Landry (Julie Jean) aged 43, she leaves behind six grandchildren Alyssa Jean Bourgeois aged 19, Éric William Bourgeois aged 18, Caleb Matthew Landry aged 15, Aleksei Landry-White aged 8, Maïté Duchêsne aged 20 and Océanne Duchêsne aged 15. She is predeceased by her brother John Davidson (1948) and leaves behind her brother Gordon Davidson (Mary Davidson). Margaret was always one to waste not, want not. She possessed a keen sense of observation, at times an eerie sense of intuition – an attribute not always appreciated by her children at the time – a penny pinching disposition (in the best way possible) and a wonderful sense of humor. She was innately clumsy often tripping over her own two feet and having suffered an unfortunate horse riding fall a decade or so ago. A registered nurse from the graduating class of 1972 at the Moncton Hospital, she was a consummate caretaker and befriended people from all walks of life. She had a passion for animals big and small. From a very young age, she rode horses with her cohort (cousin) Lynne Brine and bred and showed dogs. She inherited her green thumb from her mother and for a time, a beautiful flower garden bloomed at the family cottage. The family is grateful to Lee Griffith Wilson, Margaret’s niece who stayed by her side every day until her passing. The family also wishes to thank the medical team at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Palliative Care Unit; nurses and doctors alike, for the wonderful care provided to Margaret. They will surely remember her and the messages left by her children on the whiteboard in her room. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at the family cottage located at 11 George Street, Boudreau-Ouest (New Brunswick) E4P 6L4 where the family will greet loves ones on Sunday, August 23rd from 01:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. A burial will take place in the spring of 2021 at the St. Martin’s in the Woods Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
