Obituary of Michael R. Rietzel

Michael R. Rietzel of Moncton, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 71. Born in Moncton a son of Arnold and Marie Rietzel. Michael was a member of West Lane Baptist Church, he had a passion for gardening and caring for the family pets. Survived by his son, Andrew M. (Peggy) of Saint John, NB; grandson, Ethan; four sisters, Marilyn Carson (Allan), Sharon Lewis, Betty Cormier and Dorothy Bennett; four brothers, Brian Rietzel (Jeannette), Ossie DeWolfe, Donald DeWolfe and Ray DeWolfe as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Rietzel in 2015; brothers, Arnold Jr, Charles and James Rietzel; sisters, Patsy LeBlanc and Velma Breau. In honor of Michael a private family graveside service will be held. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Wilmot Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Cory Burton, the staff of the Moncton Hospital 5200 and the staff of the 3600 unit palliative care for the care and compassion during Michael's stay.
