Tracy, Leslie, Doug and families, So sorry to learn about the passing of your mom. Growing up next door I remember one of your mom's election wins - such a novel thing at the time...the talk and marvel of the town. I don't think your house could have fit any more people inside! She was so admired and respected...Riverview's 'celebrity'. She will be sorely missed in so many capacities by so many people. She was always welcoming whether here, the cottage, or Ottawa - a gracious host. As much as we may know about the circle of life, it is always hard to lose a loved one but even more difficult under these new trying times. You've had to share your mom with so many people over the years and must again through your grief. As you navigate future family occasions, may you raise a glass in her honour amidst both tears and laughter. She was one of a kind. I will keep you in my heart space and look to the sky for your mom and dad co-piloting a loop-the-loop. Thinking of you...Lisa (McGrath) Morris

To Doug, Leslie and Tracy. Sending big hugs to you and your families. I saw your Mom before the pandemic started and we had a little visit. I remember you from being my neighbours on Yale Avenue and the babysitting I did for your parents. I am now living in the house next door since Mom passed away 3 years ago and the memories are so alive of the good days we had as friends and neighbours. Hugs to all. Janice

My deepest condolences to the Robertson family on the loss of your mother. As a young public servant, Brenda Robertson was one of my earliest role models and I have fond memories of the many lessons learned under her guidance. My husband and I arrived in NB in August of 1970 on the eve of Richard Hatfield's election and I was fortunate to have her as my Minister for my many years in the Departments of Social Services and Health. Her leadership, in the company of Dr. Gordon Ferguson and DM Bill Morrisey , was instrumental in the creation of the Extra-Mural Hospital , an inspirational model of health care at home that remains a gold star. Her formidable, but warm, presence taught me several lifelong lessons - one of them being the courage to admit to bad advice to the Minister - she was funny, gentle and accepting. Minister Brenda Robertson was a strong leader and served as an inspiration to many young women in politics and the public service. My deepest sympathies.

Very sorry to read of your mother's passing. She was a legendary minister of health and very receptive to the concerns of physicians. Long ago my mother purchased her sterling silver set from your mother, which I have inherited and is as beautiful and special as the day my mother received it. All the best to you and your family at this difficult time.

I wish to offer heartfelt sympathy to the family of Hon. Brenda Robertson, especially to Doug and Katherine. I have deep respect and admiration for her many achievements and honours. Our lives began similarly as Home Economics graduates from Mount Allison where I am certain we grew intellectually and socially especially with the inspiration of Dr. Doris Runciman. Brenda’s legacy is ending particularly our Extramural Hospital. I know her family will cherish all of this in addition to their own precious memories. Blessings!

Deepest condolences. I met Brenda for the first time arriving from NL for Doug and Katherine's wedding in August of 1998. It was easy to take to Brenda with her down to earth demeanor and no nonsense approach to life. Reading her obituary certainly reinforced my first impressions and to say WOW, such an accomplished lady who came into the political arena during an era of male dominance where through much hard work and perseverance, Brenda helped transform politics to the equal opportunity it is today. All while being a wife, mom and grandmother. Truly remarkable. May she rest in peace.

Dear Robertson Family, I just had to write to say that the woman you celebrate was always a hero to our family. When my mother was no longer able to be cared for at home, we were not able to get her into full-time care. Our doctor at the time was unwilling to identify my mom at the level of care that would see her admitted to professional care in Moncton. My dad, Red Geldart, knew Brenda and reached out to her. Brenda, herself, contacted her family doctor in Sussex and arranged for him to take over mom's case which allowed for her to be admitted to the old Sussex Health Center. My dad and I made weekend trips to visit with mom in that hospital which provided exceptional care. This led the way for an eventual transfer back to Moncton. We didn't know what we were going to do for the woman we loved with all our hearts. But, because the woman you love with all your hearts waded in HERSELF (rather than passing this along to a staffer) my mother had the care she needed and we had peace of mind knowing she was well cared for. I recognize that this is just one of hundreds of stories... but, I wanted to share it because, even though she has a long string of accolades...she was a hero to me and always will be! What a legacy she leaves behind.
