Obituary of James "Jim" Wolfe

James "Jim" Wolfe (1923-2020) passed away October 21st, 2020 at the Veteran’s Health Care Centre in his 97th year. Born in Moncton, he was the only son of the late Beatrice (nee Crawford) and Carl Wolfe. Jim was a World War II Veteran and served overseas as a navigator with the Canadian Air Force. He was a founding and life member of the Moncton Air Force Veterans Club. Jim was probably best known as "Sheriff Wolfe," a position he held for 30 years. He was the last of the local old-time Sheriffs. He later became District Sheriff and Coroner. Jim had an entrepreneurial spirit, a keen interest in politics, a strong work ethic, and remained both mentally and physically active right up until the end of his life. Jim enjoyed many years at the family "Camp" on the Richibucto River with his family, friends and dogs. In his leisure time he loved researching family/local history, and was an avid story teller. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Geraldine (nee Brown), his four children; Anne (Dave), Wayne (Kim), Brian (Linda) and Bruce (Cheryl), six grandchildren; Sarah, Jeffrey, Kyle, Haley (Joel), Ross (Claire) and Graham (Jaelyna) as well as three great-grandchildren; Jackson, Russell and Reese. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jared Storey. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors that cared for Jim at the Moncton Hospital and the Veterans Health Care Centre.
