Obituary of Marion A. Platt

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Murray Crawford Platt at the age of 93 years. Marion was born at Murray Road, Kent Co., NB to the late Gordon Murray and the late Glenna Colborne. She was employed with the T. Eaton Company and The Co-operators until her retirement. She was a devoted member of the Sunny Brae Baptist Church and the Women's Mission Society. Marion had a passion for gardening and was always eager to grow something new. She was a member of the Westmorland Horticultural Society for many years. Another passion was quilting. She is survived by Carolyn Mapplebeck (late Paul), Judy Boyd (Larry), Lois Matthews (Billy), James Crawford (Marilyn), Susan Ells (Marven), Bonnie Meringer (Brian); 19 grandchildren, 47 great- grandchildren and 11 great- great- grandchildren; four step-children; sisters-in-law, Anna, Amy, Frances, Donna, Marilyn; best friend, Olive (Rogers) Mercer. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Brenda Lee (1960); first husband, A. Melvin Crawford (1970) and second husband, George Platt (2006); sisters, Ruby Wallace and Joan Murray; brothers, Russel and Bruce; best friend, Jean Duke. At her request there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
