Obituary of David B. Noddin

My Dad, David (Buddy)(Nobbs) Noddin, passed away at the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, NB on January 18, 2021. He the son of the late Donald & Elaine (Rogers) Noddin. After his mother died when he was 4, Dad and his two brothers Donnie & Jackie were raised by their grandmother, Tilly (Gallant) (Rogers) Walsh, "the only mother they ever knew". He is survived by my figure skating Mum, his wife of 58 years, Pat (Smith) Noddin; sons, best brothers ever, Dave (Natalie), Donnie & Mike; me, his daughter Bev (Brian); smart, funny, kind grandchildren Erica & Emily, Beverly & Mark , Louis (Shelby), Hillary & Sadie and Scott; great grand daughter Avrie; brother Jackie (Murielle), and half brother Ted Riley, nieces and nephews. Dad carried on Nanny's "can do, make it happen" drive in all that he did. Throughout his career in sales, Dad saw every highway & byway in the Atlantic Provinces. He loved being on the road, the East Coast and all the people he met along the way. Always on the go, Dad helped start Riverview Minor Hockey and was involved in a number of organizations and clubs: United Commercial Travellers, Beaver Curling Club, NB Golf Association, Petitcodiac Golf and Country Club, Elks Club & Press Club. Noddin family & friends spent many wonderful times at "Camp David" - skating on the Caanan River, playing baseball at his annual Caanan River Follies, hunting, fishing & canoeing. If we were lucky we would get a show - Dad on the gut bucket, Buzz playing guitar & Kenny on banjo. A willingness to laugh, sing, dance and play, the fool was Dad's price of admission. We cannot thank the staff at Spencers enough for their exceptional care, kindness & friendship. Dad was happy as the self appointed entertainer and occasional receptionist of C Wing! He went out dancing and taking care of business. Just the way he would want it. At Dad's request, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Once covid restrictions are lifted, a party to celebrate Dad's life is in order. We'll keep you posted.
