Larry was my physics teacher at RHS. He was a very nice guy, very personable and approachable. I met him at Sobeys about 10 years after I graduated high school. He probably didn't remember my name, but he knew me as a former student. We chatted for a while. He's one of the teachers in high school who made an impression on me. I'm very sorry to hear that he passed away. He sounds like he was an awesome husband, gather and grandfather!

So sorry to read of Larry's passing. Having known him for 45 years or so and teaching with him at RHS for 15 years, I counted him as a friend. He was always a gentleman and helpful. He was especially;Mr. Safegrade with all his work each year which did not go unnoticed by the staff or students. We spent many great times together at that event! My wife Jill joins me in our sympathy. She was a regular at Riverview Lion's Bingo and would often tell me that Larry had been working and said to say hello. Our deepest regrets at your loss. Alphonsine, Victor, and the rest of the family ... so sorry to learn of Larry's passing. My your good memories of past times sustain you through this difficult time. My own memories of Larry go back a very long time, to when he used to win all my marbles in the schoolyard in Upper Sackville. We joked about that the last time I saw him in person a few years ago. Sorry, for your loss. We thought very highly of Larry and know that he was a great person. I grew up with him; he was like a brother to me. He hung out with my brothers and we all use to play ball in the summer and hockey in the winter. Wade remembers them driving to the university, and how their friendship grew. So very sorry to read of Mr Hicks passing. I don't believe my kids had him for a teacher. My daughter Holly O'Neill was co-chair for Safe Grad for two years. So she worked with Mr Hick on it for two years. I helped with safe grad for those two years. Setting up for the Super Fiddle show, lunch after and all the cleaning up. My son was in middle school at the time and he came too. We would not get home until really late. It was fun and I really got to know Larry though that. We would often see each other out places and alway have a great talk. He will be missed. He was a Great Guy. Sorry my prayers and thought will be with you. Paulette O'Neill

Please accept my sincere condolences. I worked with Larry at RHS. He was unfailingly calm, cheerful, and kind. He loved the kids he taught as if they were his own. As a younger teacher, I looked at him as a model for what a teacher can become. He was still smiling at the end of his career. He influenced so many young people and left a genuine legacy.
