Obituary of Cecilia Adelaide Fraser

Cecilia Adelaide Fraser of Lower Coverdale, NB passed away at her residence on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the age of 95. Born in River Bourgeois, NS she was a daughter of the late Charles Joseph (Joe) and Angelina (Lena) (Sampson) McPhee. Cecilia's passion was her home and family and she took it very seriously. She was known far and wide for her cooking and hospitality. Being a woman of tradition, rabbit pie and dark fruit cakes were favored after midnight mass and enjoyed by many. Anyone seeking refuge or a hot meal was never turned away. Like her father always said "There is lots of room upstairs. Being a devout Catholic, mom never missed Mass and loved to sing in the choir. Her hobbies included Bingo (which meant the caller was in jeopardy if her numbers weren't called), cards and any game around the table with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and foraging for berries. To know her was to love her. Survived by daughters, Barbara Fairweather (Len) of Riverview, Lena Fraser ( late Phil Comeau) of Moncton, Jenny Melanson (Tom) of Lower Coverdale, Edna Fraser of Riverview; sister, Marie Heudes (Guy) of BC; brother, Bernard McPhee (Rose) of NS; seven grandchildren, Virginia and Len Fairweather, Sandra, Mark and Marie MacArthur, Catherine Milton, Chase Fraser; seven great- grandchildren, Thomas Oulton, Zoe MacArthur, Madyson MacArthur and Brodie MacArthur, Sadie Milton, Eric and Clark Fairweather. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Garfield Fraser in 1988; sons, George Andrew and James Edward Fraser and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Charlie Broderick officiating.
