Obituary of James Ernest Godfrey
Godfrey, James Ernest, 83, of Riverview, NB passed away peacefully at Monarch Hall on Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was born in Black River Bridge, NB and he was the son of MacKenzie and Vesta (Colpitts) Godfrey.
James worked at CN Railway for 34 years. After his retirement he co-owned the Homestead Restaurant, in Riverview, NB. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church where he served as a Steward. He was a member of the Probus Men's Club and a volunteer fireman for 25 years. He enjoyed camping, travelling, bowling and gardening.
James is survived by his wife, Audrey (Parkhill) Godfrey; his son, John (Linda) of Riverview, NB and his daughter, Joanne Miller (Jim) of Panama City. He has five grandchildren, Gillian (Josh) Canning, Devon Godfrey, Robert (Mellisa), Michael and Natasha Broome. He has eleven great grandchildren, Logan, Molly, Barret, Cooper, Avery, Cohen, Mykal, Isaiah, Tyesha, Allijah and Ashanté. He has two great great grand children, Allajia and Atreus as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Anne Toole and his sister, Barbara MacDonald.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 404 Clevland Ave, Riverview, NB on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 1:00pm until service time at 2:00pm with Rev. Steve Berube officiating.
Proof of double vaccine, picture ID and facemasks required upon entering the Church with a maximum of 100 people to attend. Please call the funeral home to reserve your seat at the church.
Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery.
