Obituary of Robina Pearl Crossman

Robina Pearl Crossman, 86 of Riverside Albert, NB passed away peacefully on May 10th at the Forest Dale Care Home. Robina was originally from Spicer’s Cove, NS, the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Allen) Robinson. Robina (lovingly called "Rownie" by family and friends) had a love and passion for life and family. She had an appreciation of nature’s beauty and especially for the homestead at Spicer’s Cove. She loved summertime, flowers, animals and especially her cats. She loved music and always had a radio playing (when she wasn’t watching her General Hospital). She was fiercely loyal and independent, choosing to live her life the way she wanted; mostly at the homestead that she was so proud of. She enjoyed working for Eaton’s in Moncton in the 1950’s and later at Sears in Newcastle, where she lived for just over 50 years. Robina dearly loved her siblings and spoke of them often. She also had a special connection with her grandmother, Laura Allen, who they fondly called "Mum". Robina had one true love of her life, Merrill. They were best friends and she cherished the time she had with him. They made many wonderful memories together; from travelling around in the blinged up Chevy van to spending relaxing summers at the Cove. She always enjoyed a good laugh and having adventures with her children, Wayne and Stacey. She will be deeply missed by her daughter and best friend, Stacey Cameron (Jeffrey), her beloved grandchildren, McKayla and Taylor, her sister-in-law, Berna Robinson as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Merrill, their son Wayne (Cheryl), her sisters Alice Maude, Laura Mae and Margaret Rose, as well as brothers George and Hartley. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday Aug, at 2:00pm at the United Church in Spencer's Island, NS. The burial will take place at the Advocate Cemetery with a reception at the Fire Hall in Advocate Harbour, NS. The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Forest Dale Care Home for taking such good care of Robina and for being like a second family to her. Donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society or to any local SPCA.Service Information Saturday, August 6, 2022 2:00pm United Church in Spencer's Island, NS.
