Obituary of Jean Isobel Ball

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Isobel Ball on July 25, 2022 at the tender age of 95 years. Jean was born in Walsall, England on September 3, 1927. She left England in 1962 with her husband and daughter to immigrate to Canada. They settled in Pickering, Ontario and then Oshawa, Ontario. In 1990, after a few years of retirement, Jean and Joe followed their daughter and son-in-law to settle in Moncton and finally Riverview, New Brunswick. Jean lived a long, healthy life that saw her travelling the world on her own until the age of 86. Gardening was her passion, and no one planted and tended the quintessential English country garden as she did. She worked for K-Mart until her retirement in 1987. In addition to travelling and gardening, she loved dancing, singing, camping, bird watching, reading, long car drives and watching re-runs of the Lawrence Welk show on Saturday nights. Jean was the 5th of six children born to Amy and Tom Morgan and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was pre-deceased way too soon, by her husband Joe in 1993. Also, brothers Ted and Sonny and sisters Ruby, Gertie and Beryl; all of England. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of England, and her only child and son-in -law Janeen and John Martin of Riverview, New Brunswick. Words are not enough to extend our profound thanks to the entire staff of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, which was Mum's residence over the past two years. You were all with Mum in her final days on this earth and treated her with respect, kindness and dignity that we all deserve. For that, you will be forever in our hearts. In honouring Mum's request, there will be no funeral service and cremation has taken place. If you can find it in your purse, in your hearts or in your time, please donate or do something kind for the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and their residents. The home is always so grateful for any form of volunteer work or donations. Just give them a phone call. Any support is a huge support for these selfless, devoted caregivers who give so much to loved ones who can no longer care for themselves. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544.
