Obituary of Sandra F. Reeves

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Reeves of Petitcodiac, NB, on July 26th, 2022, following a brief illness. Born in Moncton on August 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Miriam (Mim) (Atkinson) and late J. Barrie Reeves. Sandy was a proud native of Sunny Brae and remained close to people in the community and its history. In recent years she served on the board of the Elmwood Cemetery. She worked as an administrative assistant and later in real estate, working in Moncton and Toronto. In 1996 she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Miss A.J. MacMaster School of Nursing and her career saw her working as a nurse in Maine and in Moncton. She is survived by the loves of her life, daughter Nancy Cassidy Bindles, son-in-law Ralf, grandson Nicholas of Petitcodiac, NB; and daughter Beverly Sears, son-in-law Fred, granddaughter Elisha and grandson Dashiell of Alberta. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Jensen (Paul) of Moncton, brother Bill of Toronto; special friend Gordon Thomas of Wales; nephews Greg (Shoana) Jensen and Kevin (Nora) Jensen; and niece Susan Arseneault. She leaves many extended family members and close friends to mourn her loss. Sandy was a wonderful cook (most delicious scotch cakes ever!), was very creative, talented and an amazing photographer. Many birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, special events and nature scenes were memorialized in her beautiful photos. Thank you to Dr. McCaw, staff at the Sheldon Rubin Oncology Clinic, Extra Mural, the Albert Hospice and caring friend Susan Carty of Elgin, NB.
