Obituary of Brenda Murphy
Brenda Murphy, 76 , of Riverview, passed away at Monarch Hall, Riverview with her son at her side, on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born in Greenwich, PEI; and was the daughter of the late Calvin R. and Vera Marguerite (Berry) Sanderson.
Brenda worked for the Royal Bank in Montreal and then in Moncton in various departments before retiring. She later was employed with "We Care" at the George Dumont Hospital for ten years.
She enjoyed shopping and travelling going on Bus Tours to sunny locations in the states. She also loved country music, reading and dancing.
Brenda was the last Sanderson baby to be born in the original Sanderson Homestead in Greenwich, PEI. and was passionately referred to as the "Princess of PEI" by her late sister Norma.
Survived by her loving son Gregory Murphy (Carla McIntosh) of Riverview; and by numerous cousins in New Brunswick and PEI.
With the passing of her parents Calvin in 2015 and Vera in 1998, she was also predeceased by her brother Robert A. "Bobby" Sanderson in 2008 and her sister Norma Sanderson in 2016.
Honouring Brenda's wishes visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm with a graveside committal service to follow at 1:30pm at Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview.
Donations in Brenda's memory made to the Alderwood Cemetery tree fund, the SPCA or a charity of the donor's choice.
