The family of Egon Frederick Jensen Is saddened to inform everyone of his passing on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at the Moncton Hospital.

Fred was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 20, 1930, the first born of Danish immigrants Jens and Olga Jensen. Upon the passing of Fred’s father in 1941, his mother returned to Denmark with Fred, his younger brother, Kai and sister Sonja.  Fred returned to North America at the age of 17 by captaining a merchant vessel to South America, and eventually made his way to Moncton.

Fred began his financial/life insurance career in 1950 and met the love of his life, Ruth Dewar, at the Parlee Beach dance hall.  They were married in November,1952 and had 3 children.  David Jensen (Georgette), Susan Lutes (Greg) and John Jensen. Eight grandchildren followed, Jack Jensen (Ann), Rob Lutes (Vicky), Jim Jensen (Kerry), Tom Lutes (Liz), Kaitlin Lutes (Rob McNeil), Jeremy Jensen (Courtney), Nate Jensen and Sam Jensen....He was so proud and loved each and every one of them!  Great grandchildren follow when you live to 94, and they are Avery Lutes, Emily Jensen, Hana Jensen, Kenzy Lutes, Wesley Jensen and Levi Lutes.  By then, Fred was known as OG Grumpy...the original!  We are all still happy to be here to celebrate his life!

Fred is survived by his brother Kai and family, sister Sonja Buck (Art) and family, Fred’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as special family members John Dickie, Linda White, Huguette Theriault, Lori Lambert and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
