It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Laraine Merrithew at the Moncton City Hospital on September 14 th , 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Fredericton, NB on November 9 th , 1949, she is the daughter of Iona Merrithew and the late Lowell Merrithew.

Along with her loving mother, Anne will be deeply missed by her sisters, Gail Waugh (Duane), Lower Coverdale, NB and Joy Barrington (Bruce) Sydney, NS. She will also be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews, Shawn Waugh (Lisa), Michelle Waugh (Louis Leger), Steven Waugh (Amanda), Scott Waugh (Carla), all of the Moncton area, Laura White (Ainslie), Jonathan Stevens (Courtney), Troy Stevens (Taylor Mitchell), all of Hammonds Plains, NS. and several great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. Also left to mourn her passing are Kelli and Peter Breau and their sons, Dante and Jaden, of Saint John, NB who were all a very special part of Anne’s life. She had a deep faith and her Church family was also important to her.

Anne began her nursing career in Saint John, NB in 1971 and remained at the Saint John Regional Hospital until her retirement. There she excelled as a caring and compassionate Nurse with most of her career spent in the nursery caring for babies. Those who knew Anne knew what a kind, thoughtful and giving person she was. After her retirement, she loved her volunteer days at L’Arche ,Saint John and the Westside Food Bank. Anne had a keen interest in her family geneology and shared with us many interesting stories from the past. Anne also enjoyed her time creating beautiful scrapbooks of many family reunions and other special times, which we will enjoy for years to come.
