Margaret worked tirelessly for the Community of Riverview for many years despite being widowed at a young age, working full time and raising nine children. Margaret ran for Municipal Council twice, worked with the committee for a second arena, formed a gymnastics club, participated in the Canusa Games, sat on both the adult and youth advisory boards, appointed Honorary Member of the Riverview Kinettes and received an Honorary Award for Volunteerism by the Town of Riverview, and was President of the Riverview Women’s PC Association.

Margaret was appointed and was a founding member of Crime Stoppers, serving for ten years. Margaret was awarded the Governor General Commemorative plaque and medal.

Margaret was so fortunate and thankful for the excellent health care she received over the years, in particular her family physician Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Dorval through the Nephrology Clinic at the Dr. G. L. Dumont Hospital and Extra Mural program which allowed her to remain in her own home, which was all she desired.

Margaret created a piece of paradise at her cottage where family gathered for over forty years, forging unforgettable memories full of laughter and happiness. It is where she leaves her soul.  We all aspire to take lead of her favorite song, “I Hope You Dance”
