So sorry for your loss. Your Mum was a wonderful person. I always loved how she talked to everyone as a special person.

I was so saddened to hear of the death of my dear friend Susan. We met and became fast friends 47 years ago. Subsequently we met and loved her husband, Curtis ( affectionately called "Curtain" by my daughter , Melanie.) Shortly after Melanie was born, Susan had Joanna and we made time to ensure they became friends as well. When Joanna married Scott we took to him like family and when they had two beautiful blond headed little girls, Georgia and Zoe, I inherited two "grandchildren of my ❤️ " When I was concerned that they were calling us both "Grammy- Grammy" Susan poo pooed my concern and instead of being upset or jealous, simply said "you are more of a real Grammy than me, as you do soooo much with them." But, I knew, Noone could love them anymore than her. Although time brought many changes in addresses we remained in touch, and I was included in many holidays .I loved our many summers in Pocologan, visits to P E.I., Concerts in the U.S ( my favorite being when Susan and I drive to Portland in a snowstorm to hear Elton John.) We were not disappointed! If you knew what a "Nervous Netty" Susan could be driving at anytime, you can imagine how badly she wanted to see Sir Elton John!! Susan was ALWAYS there for me thru thick and thin. When Melanie came to STU and I was ill in Miramichi, Susan drove in from Brockway regularly to check on her, to take her to supper, or just to listen .Melanie always said that Susan was her favorite adult, and she felt that way about her pretty much since she was born. "SU SU " as Melanie called her, entertained her, read to her, laughed with her, and came down the back stairs every night to see her off to bed. Many a night I caught Susan smirking and I would say "Is she still awake in there?" Susan could see her from her chair while I could not. Susan would feign innocence but I would catch little fingers waving out the crack of Melanie's bedroom door with little whispers of "hi Su-Su, hi Su-su!" There are 47 years of memories that I could go on & on about, and I guess I have far surpassed my quoto here, but Susan was family and Melanie and I both loved her dearly. We will miss her presence terribly, but will carry her in our hearts, where we keep all our precious things. We love you Su Su...and until we meet again, rest easy, and sing loud and clear in that Angel Choir. xxoo Ferne and Melanie

Very sorry to learn of Susan's passing. I got to know her, Curtis & Joanna,, many years ago while working in the Barber Shop, at The Charlotte Mall. Susan had a quick, dry sense of humour....Curtis was a man of few words, but very friendly...and Joanna was just a little girl, starting School... very likeable and cute. Sending my deepest sympathy to Joanna, and all the Sweet & Saunders family....
