Obituary of Arnold Morton
MONCTON, NB – In loving memory of Arnold Morton who passed away on Saturday,
October 21, 2023 at the Moncton City Hospital with his family by his side.
Born September 5, 1934; Arnold led a life marked by his unwavering kindness,active
engagement in his community and ceaseless desire to contribute to the world and
always quick to lend a helping hand. Arnold enriched all the lives he encountered
whether thru a welcoming smile or open palm to lift others up.
A man with diverse skills and fascinations, Arnold was never idle; from repairing lawn
mowers to assisting friends with CB Radios or engrossing himself in an intriguing
project. His hands and mind were always at work. Renounced for his sense of humor
and never ending reservoir of tales. Arnold was a shining light of optimism. His
readiness to help out left an everlasting imprint on all who had the privilege to know him.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, five months, Janet (Wilbur) Morton of
Moncton; one sister, Betty Roberts (late Percy) of Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Marion
Morton of Lutz Mountain; special great nephew, Russell Morton of Riverview; also
nephews, Winton Morton (Kelly) of Nova Scotia, Kendal Morton (Lisa) of Fredericton,
Jason Morton (Vicki) of Riverview and families; Janet’s children, Kathy Belliveau
(Roger) of Memramcook, Donald Wilbur (Julie) of Hillsborough and families.
Arnold was predeceased by his parents, George Morton and Florence Morton; first wife, Edith (Cail) Morton and one brother, David.
Arnold’s family will be accepting condolences from relatives and friends at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview (506-857-9544) on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto beginning at 1:00 pm
until time of the service. A Celebration of Arnold’s life will be held on Monday, October
30, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel in Richibucto, officiated by
Reverend Wayne Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arnold’s memory may be
made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
