Dear Brother Doug,
Where do I begin to relate what your family has meant to me over the years? I first met Sharon and the rest of your family when you moved into the Parkton Congregation and I was pioneering, working with one of our mutual friends (Jean Wade) in the field ministry. I appreciated hearing Sharon's stories about your pioneer days in Quebec and Nova Scotia and, later on, working with your family in the field ministry, as well. I recall Sharon as a warm and friendly person who loved Jehovah God very much and encouraged her family to follow His perfect ways. She was one of the few I knew at that time who did not require an appointment to drop in on her. I loved that about her, and I feel sure it drew many others to her, as well. Most importantly, it was you and Sharon who helped me the most to get out of the deep depression I was in following the untimely death of my husband, Henry. I will truly never forget those book studies and invitations to your home that helped me reset my radar in a spiritual sense. Moving on to the 21st century, I was very happy and not at all surprised when I heard you two were going to move to Europe as need greaters. As a former need greater myself, I know how much time, effort, organization, and, yes, money that is required to accomplish such a move, and I truly admired you for doing this. In fact, Sharon will be one of those I will be looking to see in the New World to hear some of her experiences in that assignment.
May Jehovah continue to bless your sincere efforts to promote his name and kingdom in whatever part of the world and whatever congregation you decide to make your home!
Warm Christian love from a friend forever, Lois Doige
