Obituary of Shirley L. Touchie

Shirley Touchie, 76, formerly of Wesley St. Moncton, passed away at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Thursday, April 13, 2006. Born in Moncton on July 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura (Murray) Carroll. Shirley was formerly employed with the CNR Bureau Statistics, it was here, where she met a lifetime of friends. She attended St. John's United Church and she was a member of the City of Moncton Firefighters Lady Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed swimming and spending the summers at the family cottage in Cocagne Cape. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Marshall Touchie, her son Gregg and his wife Julie Touchie of Moncton; a sister Muriel Doucet (the late Oscar) of Salisbury; sister-in-law Ann Carroll of Moncton and by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Biana Gibson (Cecil) and Marjorie McGrath (John) and by brothers Murray (Delta), Clarence 'Bud' (Doris) and Harold Carroll. At Shirley's request there is no veiwing at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the reception room at Tuttle Brothers immediately following the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley's memory made to N.B. Lung Association, the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, the Diabetic Association or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
