Obituary of Roy Halushak

Roy Halushak, 81, of Riverview, passed away following a short illness at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, October 26, 2008 surrounded by his family. Born in Fort William, Ont; on September 20, 1927, he was the eldest son of the late William and Anna (Kozlo) Halushak. Roy retired as manager of Overseas Markets with the CNR after 41 & 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the CN Pensioners, the CN Supervisors and Past President and member of the Magnetic Hill Golf and Country Club. His family was of the utmost importance to him, especially his grandchildren. Roy will be sadly missed by his children William Joseph and his wife Monique Halushak of Woodbridge, On; Beatrice Ann and her husband Jeffrey Leaman of Riverview; and Barbara Lynn and her husband Douglas Stafford of Riverview; his loving grandchildren James, Matthew and Stephen Stafford, Gregory and Laura Leaman, Alexis and Electra Halushak, as well as nieces and nephews. Roy was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Beatrice Joyce Halushak in April 2007, also by five sisters and a brother. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations in Roy's memory made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation "Oncology Dept." would be appreciated.
