Obituary of Thurza Eleanor "Tess" Williams

Thurza E. Williams of 77 Gorge Road and formerly of Shediac Rd., Moncton passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, NS, on July 24, 1932, she is the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (McLean) Graham. Thurza was a Registered Nurse and graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital (1955). She received her Gold Cap from the Aberdeen Alumni in 2005. She is a member of St. Georges Anglican Church in Moncton, as well as a past member of the St. Georges Alter Guild. She was also a past member of the Nurses Auxiliary of the Moncton Hospital and a past Board Member of the Canadian Mental Health Association Moncton. A loving and caring mother, nanny, sister and friend. She always had fond memories of the Purvis Ave girls. She enjoyed family times at the cottage, travelling, skiing and loved to dance. Left with many cherished memories are her children Catherine Pellazar (Rolando) of Moncton, Peter Williams (Tim Pedersen) of Loretto, Ontario, Natalie Robart (Greg) of Rothesay, her two grandchildren Tess and anDrew Robart; her sister Esther Baker (the late J.B. Baker QC) of Stellarton N.S; sister in law Dorothy (Williams) Peer (Donald) of Hubbards, NS; brother in law, Douglas Williams ( the late Iris Belyea) of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Donald E. Williams, two sisters, Olive and Isabel and her brother Allister. A memorial service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church corner of Church and Queen Streets , Moncton on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 1:30pm with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the Church Hall immediately following the service. Interment will be at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Alzheimer's Society or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation in memory of Thurza would be appreciated. A very special thanks from the family to the staff of Protem, 77 Gorge Road. The family wants to express their thanks to Dr. B Davidson, Dr. P Phelan and the nursing staff of 3600 and 5100 of the Moncton Hospital. A heartfelt thanks to Margie Landry, Isabel and Lorne Crowell.
