Obituary of Paul S. Murphy
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Paul S. Murphy, of Cocagne, NB, cherished father of Kerry Ann Murphy of Kitchener, Ontario, and Melanie Beth Bezdel of Burlington, Ontario, after a brief illness at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday February 14, 2006 at the age of 82 years. Paul's quick wit and mischievious blue eyes will be missed by all.
Born in Saint John, NB on August 3, 1923 he was the son of the late Richard Gervis and Kathleen (Shields) Murphy. He was a member of St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church. After serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the second World War as a Spitfire pilot, he continued his service, retiring at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer after 32 years. He later retired from the position of Quality Assurance Manager at Bailey Controls, located in Burlington, Ontario.
Paul is survived by brothers Cyril Murphy of Providence Road Island, John Murphy and his wife, Frances, of Saint John, and Richard Murphy of Moncton; also by his granddaughter Sara Murphy of Pierrefonds, Quebec. Much loved father-in-law of Marek Bezdel and Kimberly Gallein, he is also survived by his many special nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley Ann (MacDougall) Murphy in 1996; his son Shaun Murphy in 1980; sister Frances Cooper; and by his brother Reverend Lawrence Murphy.

Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Friday February 17, 2006 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00pm. The Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association will be holding a prayer service at the funeral home Friday night at 6:45pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernards Roman Catholic Church on Saturday February 18, 2006 at 10:00am with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be at Shirley's side in Burlington Memorial Gardens, 3353 Guelph Line in Burlington, ON at a later date.
In Paul's memory, donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home, (506) 857-9544.
