Obituary of Peter D. Stewart

It is with very sad hearts that the family of Peter D. Stewart announce the passing of a remarkable husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Pete passed away, after a most valiant and inspiring struggle with neck cancer, on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by his wife Denise (Mahoney), children Danielle and Katie-Lynn and many caring family members and special friends. Pete left with heavy hearts his parents Ret. Brig. Gen. William D. and Jean Stewart (ON), Brothers: Allen (Raelene), Sask, Doug (Cindi), Man., Bill, (Man.), Sisters: Peggy (Roger), Man., Moira (Charles), ON., Mother-in-Law Mary Mahoney (NL), Sisters-in-Law: Terri-Lou (Fabian), NL., B.A. (Jamie), NL., Corinne (Noel), ON., Karen-Ann (Gary), NL., Brothers-in-Law: Nick (Belinda), ON., Owen (Anita), NL., numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by brother Bruce and Father-in-Law Nicholas Mahoney. Pete was recently retired from NAV CANADA where he was a loyal and committed employee. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm, and Monday June 20, 2011 from 12 noon to time of Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. Interment to take place at a later date in Pakenham, Ontario. Donations in Pete's memory made to the George L. Dumont Oncology Clinic or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
