Obituary of Norman A. LeBlanc

Norman A. LeBlanc, age 77 years of 460 Mountain Road and previously of 28 Edgett Ave, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital after a very lengthy illness. He leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years Dolores (McDonald) LeBlanc, three daughters Cheryl Abbott (Kevin) of Ottawa, Tracy Robart (Kevin) of Moncton and Carolin Stewart (Rod) of Porters Lake, NS; and son Kim of Calgary; eight grandchildren Brodie and Michaela Abbott, Alex, Brett and Hilary Robart, Jillian, Hunter and Parker Stewart; sister Colleen (Richard) Moralejo and brother Donald both of Montreal. Norm was discharged from the R.C.A.F in 1953 and worked for a short time for CNR. Joining 3M Canada as District Manager of his division for Atlantic Canada, he then formed his own company as a Manufacturer’s agent and had to take early retirement due to poor health. Norman was an active member of St. Augustine’s Church, a scout leader with St. Bernard’s Church and president of CYO. He was a former president of the N.B. Safety Council, Past National Vice President of the R.C.A.F Association and Past President of Moncton, New Brunswick and Maritime R.C.A.F. He was also an active member of the Air Cadet League, both locally and nationally; and helped form the 650 Air Cadet Squadron. Norman was also a member of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society, past director of APTA and a member with UCT for over 50 years. Former member of the Beausejour curling club and Pine Needles Golf Club. Chief referee of Moncton Minor Hockey, Norman was a lover of all sports and followed his sons and grandsons. Predeceased by his parents Alyre and Gertrude (Shea) LeBlanc and baby son Stanley. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Shediac Extra Mural and Hospice, Extra Mural Blanche Bourgeois and a warm thank you to France Sonier. Special Thanks to all friends who visited Norman this summer at the cottage, where he loved spending his summers. Visitation will be held from Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 from 7-9pm. Funeral mass will be held from St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, November 20th, 2009 at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norman made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
