Obituary of Nora Cormier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nora (Nin) Cormier, of Manoir Notre Dame and formerly of Cameron St., on March 4, 2012, at the age of 92 years. Born on December 30, 1920, on Robinson St., Moncton, Nora was the daughter of the late John and Evangéline (Melanson) Cormier. Graduating from the commercial sector of Moncton High School, in 1938, Nora succeeded in finding employment in accounting and the archives of the Hotel Dieu (George Dumont) Hospital for a number of years. From there she was employed by White Rose and Shell Oil until her retirement. A member of Moncton's Notre Dame de l’Assomption Parish, she was a member of several committees. In addition to her parents, Nora was predeceased by sisters Jean (Austin) MacMahone, Bernadette (Angus) MacDonald ; brothers Roy (Rita King), René (Blanche Arsenault) and Oscar as well as six brothers and sisters in infancy. Nora is survived by four nephews, Dr. Dale MacMahone of Ottawa, Peter MacMahone of Brampton, John H. Cormier of Cap Pelé, Pierre R. Cormier of Dieppe as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no visitation, A celebration mass of her life will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, 87 Murphy Ave. Moncton, at 11 am. with Fr: Paul Breau officiating.
