Obituary of Marie Arlene Lund
Marie A. Lund,73, of Royal Court, Riverview,NB and formerly of Toronto, ON; passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Born in Moncton, NB she was the daughter of the late Linus U. and Annie E. (Cameron) Lund. She attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Moncton.
Marie a member of the Nursing Profession, she received her Diploma in Nursing from St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal, she also received degree's from University of Toronto "Hospital Administration", University of Ottawa "Nursing Education" and New York Polyclinic Hospital "Teaching and Administration. Marie was Executive Director and President of Home Care Program for Metropolitan Toronto Inc. from 1983 until the time of her retirement. Prior to her position of President , she was employed at St. Mary's Hospital as Director of Nursing and at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto as Assistant Administrator. She was a member of the Association of Ontario Home Care Associates, served as Vice President and Secretary of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives Toronto Chapter and was a member of the University of Toronto - Department of Health Administration, where she was appointed Lecturer Status . Marie also had a published article in 1990 "Home Care: The Ontario Experience", Pride Institute Journal of Long Term Care
She is survived by five brothers Bazil (Madge) Lund of Moncton, Gerald (the late Maureen) Lund of Windsor, ON, Ralph (Lavetta) Lund of Moncton, Elroy Lund of Moncton and Cameron (Sheila) Lund of Quispamsis; sister in law Lenora Lund of Toronto; also by several nieces, nephews, cousins and by grand nieces and grand nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Beverly, and brothers Urban, Walter, Harold and Peter Lund.
At Marie's request there is no visitation at the Funeral Home.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Moncton, NB on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11:00 am with Fr. Yvon Arsenault officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB in the spring.
In Lieu of flowers donations made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by her family.
