Obituary of Marie Melanson
Marie Melanson, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the age of 88 years.
Born in Newcastle, NB on January 12, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Ernest Franklin and Mary Jewell (Major) Galley. Marie was a member of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church; a member of the CWL of St. Bernard’s; a volunteer at The Karing Kitchen; a volunteer at Birthright; also Marie was the secretary of the Dieppe Minor Hockey Association for many years.
She is survived by her daughters Germaine (Eugene) LeBlanc of Dieppe, Alice (Francois) Melanson of Sherbrooke, Que; sons Marcel (Sharon) of Harbour Grace, NF, Herman Jr. (Sue) of Grande Digue, David (Elizabeth) of Dieppe; sister Hylda Conrad of Comox, Vancouver Island; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parent she was predeceased by her husband Herman in 2005; brothers William, Albert, Francis, and Milton.
Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00pm & 7:00 - 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:00am with Father Bernard Sloan officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
