Obituary of Mary Lee
Mary Lee, wife of the late Edward (Ted), mother of Vicky (Brian) Baxter passed away on God's and her terms on Monday at her residence SerenAcare. Mamie was the proud and generous grandmother of Teddy (Kerry) Baxter of Rothesay and Mari-Lee Baxter of Florida and loving great-grandmother of Lauren and Patrick Baxter; she is also survived by her sister-in-law Connie Shaban and by several nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Beersville in 1919 and was the daughter of the late Monseur and Fatima Shaban. She was predeceased by her sister Emily (Joe) Abraham of Truro and brothers Chris (Gladys), Moody, Charlie (Jean), Joe (Gertie) and Arlie (Lilly) of Moncton and Toronto. Mary and Ted operated Ted’s Grocery on Lewis Street for over fifty years. Mary was known by the people of the East End of Moncton as being gracious and caring. In her own quiet way she ensured that any person, adult or child that entered her store would never go hungry and would always have decent clothes to wear. Mary was nurtured in her faith of people by her attendance at St. John’s United Church and the humbleness of her parents. A Memorial Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 1:30pm with Aaron Billard officiating. Interment will at Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Mary's memory made to "Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation" or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. A special thank you to Dr. Greg Donald and the staff of SerenAcare for the excellent care given to Mary. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB E1C 5E8 (506) 857-8564 Online condolences www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca Service Information
