Obituary of Laurie E. Richard

Laurie Edward Richard, 90, of the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Castle Manor, and second avenue passed away at The Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Born in Moncton August 9, 1915, he was the son of the late Edouard and Marie - Rose (Pellerin) Richard. He was a former employee of CNR having retired in 1976. Laurie was a veteran of WW II having served with the Royal Canadian Army. Laurie was an avid sportsman having played hockey and active in the boxing ring. He was inducted to the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1980. He will be sadly missed by his son Paul (Geraldine) of Catamount Rd.; six grandchildren Terry, Donald, Donna and Gary Mills of Sarnia, Randy (Carla) of Riverview and Lori Lynn (Johnny) of Catamount; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grand daughter; also by her sister Clara Cook of Riverglade. He was predeceased by his wife Florence (LeBlanc) in 1995 and by his daughter Muriel Mills of Sarnia, On. There will be no public viewing or visitation. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Saturday April 1, 2006 at 10am with Fr. Maurice Legere officiating. Donations in Laurie's memory made to The Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
