Obituary of Lois Madelaine Steeves

Lois Madelaine (Middleton) Steeves passed away at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 86 years with her granddaughter Shelley Henrichs at her side. Born in Anagance, NB on February 10, 1925, she was the daugher of the late Olive (Baxter) and Thomas Middleton. She is survived by her husband Homer Steeves of Riverview, daughter Paula Goad of Riverview and son Charlie (Carolee) Steeves of Hampton, NB and stepdaughter Pat Steeves of Moncton. Beloved Nanie of Shelley Henrichs, and great grandaughter Zoe Henrichs of Riverview, NB. Also survived by grandsons Michael Henrichs of Riverview, NB and Shane (Anisa) Steeves of Hampton, NB and granddaughter Shannon (Jim) Sherwood of Hampton, NB. Great grandmother of Kolbie Henrichs, Jordan ahd Bailey Sherwood and Ava Steeves. Also survived by step grandson Craig (Nicole) Steeves of Shediac and Basil (Keiko) Steeves of BC. Step-great grandmother to Jada, Julian and Jamie Steeves. She is also survived one aunt, Vera Middleton, and many nieces and nephews. Lois was a hairdresser for many years, working out of her home in Moncton. She was a beautiful knitter, loved doing needlepoint and making quilts. Her flower gardens were tended lovingly every year and were the showpiece of her neighborhood. Lois and Homer resided for many years in Petitcodiac and moved to Riverview in 1991. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister Jean Jonah, and three brothers Laird, Kirby and Don Middleton. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was as member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd, in Riverivew, NB on Saturday March 26, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Sunday March 27, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bob Steeves officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB. In Memory of Lois and in lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciate by the family.
