Obituary of Katherine 'Kay' E. Carpenter
Katherine E. Carpenter, 90, of Moncton, passed away at her residence in Moncton on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Perly and Mary (Clancy) Vanderbeck. She retired from the UNB Harriett Irving Library in 1980. She was a member of St. Philips Anglican Church, Lynch St. Moncton. Katherine was a life member of the National Women's Liberal Commission of Canada, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a member of several Senior Citizens Groups.
A loving and caring mother, grammy, sister and friend, she will be sadly missed by her daughter Mary (Pichette) Carpenter of Fredericton; her two sons Earle Carpenter of Deer Island and Richard (Janet) Carpenter of Moncton; daughters-in-law Judy of Saint John and Murna of Fredericton; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, her brother George (Roxanne) Vanderbeck of Sunny Corner and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond, sons Arthur and Glenn, her grand daughter Mary Jane, daughter-in-law Joey and by a brother Russell.
At Katherine's request no visitation will be held at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Philip's Anglican Church 30 Lynch St. Moncton on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 11:30 am with Rev. Fr. Kevin Borthwick officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends in the church reception hall immediately following the service.
Interment will be in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery, Marysville, NB in the spring.
