Obituary of Mary “Marjorie” O'Keefe

M. Marjorie O'Keefe, 91, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, December 05, 2005. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Loretto (Fitzgerald) Mitchell. Marjorie was formerly employed with the Evening Patriot in Charlottetown and with MacLean Memorial Hospital as a receptionist and and as Village Clerk in McAdam. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Riverview and was a long time member of the CWL in McAdam, Marjorie enjoyed reading, playing Bridge and was an excellent Pianist. Her greatest love was her family. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Mary and her husband Ted Robak of Fredericton and Frances and her husband Wayne Lawrence of Perth Andover, her son John and his wife Linda O'Keefe of Riverview, her loving grandchildren Anna Robak and Stefan Robak, Allison Lawrence and Sandra Turner (Chris), Amy and Jenna O'Keefe; her sister Marion Mitchell and brother Gerald Mitchell (Julia) of Charlottetown, PEI; sister-in-law Rev. Sr. Florence O'Keefe of Toronto as well as several nieces and nephews and by her beloved dog Hershe. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Francis O'Keefe in 1965 and by two sisters, Betty McWade and Mary Hennessey. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Parish prayers and sharing of memories will be held Wednesday evening at 8:30 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 1:00 pm with Fr. Jeff Doucette officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB in the spring. Donations in Marjorie's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
