Obituary of Rita Jean Hannigan
Rita J. Hannigan, 90, of Moncton, passed away with her family by her side at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Born October 3, 1917 in Moncton, NB; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Natalie (Daigle) Cormier. She was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Rita enjoyed scrap booking, bingo and playing Sibo, she also enjoyed meeting with her friends at the Air Force club.
A loving and caring mother, grammie, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Florence Maillet and her husband Frank of Moncton; her daughter-in-law Cathy Hannigan Cranton of Annapolis Royal, NS; one sister Alma Quinn of Florida; one brother Romeo Cormier of Shediac; two grandsons Andrew and Matthew of Moncton; grand daughter Heather Hannigan of Annapolis Royal, NS; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband James R. Hannigan, her son John Hannigan, sisters Dora Goguen, Florence Coyle, Edmay Duguay and Yvonne Melanson and by brothers Leo , Albert and Emery Cormier.
Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Dominion and Mountain Rd. Moncton on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 10 :00am with Fr. Bernard Sloan officiating.
Interment will be in Shediac Road Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in Rita's memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by her family.
