Obituary of Pierre Joseph Daniel LeBlanc

Pierre LeBlanc, age 58, of Shediac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by his family after a courageous lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, January 26th, 2009. Born in Lachine, Quebec on September 22nd, 1950; he was the son of the late Anne (Hutchinson) and J.M. Henri LeBlanc. Pierre worked for 25 years with Air Cab in the Moncton area. He is survived by his brothers Marcel (Suzanne) of Newmarket, ON, David of Toronto, ON, Guy (Suzanne) of Shediac; and sisters Rhonda (Ross) Trenholm of Sackville, NB, Rose-Marie LeBlanc of Moncton, NB and Laura LeBlanc of Toronto, ON; his former wife Darlene; also a nephew, several nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, numerous cousins and relatives. He was an avid photographer and through the years photographed weddings, portraits and landscapes of Atlantic Canada. Music played an important part of his life since the 1960’s, along with comedy and a love for laughter, darts and billiards. Special thanks to Gail McNevin, his faithful long time friend, companion and care giver during the most difficult times of Pierre’s illness. Also to the wonderful medical and nursing care received from the doctors and nurses at the Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Dr’s. Swaggart and Stewart. Deep appreciation to Fr. Denis Belliveau for special prayers during his final hours. A special celebration of Pierre’s life will be held for family and friends at the family home in Shediac, on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at 7:00pm where Rev. Vernon Vickruck will provide spiritual care. Donation in memory of Pierre made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.
