Obituary of Laura Jean McLellan

Laura J. McLellan, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Born in Moncton on April 21, 1919, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Annie (Tilburt) Donnelly. She was employed with the Physiotherapy Dept. of the Moncton Hospital and retired after 25 years service. She was a member of St. John's United Church. She was avid card player and was a member of the Lions Seniors Cribbage Club. Laura was also a member of the Westmorland Horticultural Society and the Monctonian African Violet Society. Left with fond memories are her daughters Carol O'Quinn (the late Albert) of South Branch, NL; Sharron Mazerolle of Saint John, NB; and Claire McLellan of Moncton; her son Cyril W. McLellan (Lorraine) of Riverview; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters Myrtle Wilson-Cormier of Moncton and Bernice Bratten (Edward) of Cape Breton Rd; two brothers Kirby E. Donnelly (Billy) and R. Stewart Donnelly (Lois) all of Moncton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William "Bill" J. McLellan; two grandchildren Lindsay Lee Hutton and Gregory Joseph Thibodeau; sisters Dorothy Whitenect and infant Colleen and by three brothers Henry, Clinton and Thomas "Tom" L. Donnelly. Visitation is at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz St. Moncton, on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
