Obituary of Ronald E. J. Gallant

Ron Gallant; passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB; he moved to Riverview in 1972. He was the son of the late Leonard and Rita Gallant. Ron worked for Hub Meat Packers for 27 years and was currently employed with School District 2. He was a member of the Riverview Lions Club, where he was a bingo caller and served on various committees. Ron was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed bowling in the Albert County Men's League, fishing, travelling, playing cards and any and all sports. The greatest joy of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren, in which he instilled in them his love of movies, cheesies and practical jokes. Laughter was a large part of his life. He will be sadly missed by loving wife of 41 years Pat Gallant; his daughters Angela Colpitts (Michael) and Barbara Wry (Kevin); his son Rob Gallant (Chelsie); his adoring grandchildren Lauren and Leah Colpitts, Zachary and Kyla Wry, Olivia, Hilary and Brooke Gallant, who he held very dear to his heart; his mother-in-law Catherine Craft; his siblings; brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws, many extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son Ronald Gallant and by a grandson Owen Wry. The Family will be receiving relatives and friends for a Celebration of Ron's Life and Lions Memorial Service at the Riverview Lions Community Center, located at 701 Coverdale Rd. Riverview, NB; on Thursday September 22, 2011 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Donations in Ron's memory made to the Riverview Lions Club for Diabetic Research "Cavalcade" would be appreciated by his family.
