Obituary of Jean Lorraine Gourley

Jean L. Gourley of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton,NB passed away surrounded by her family at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday March 16, 2006 at the age of 71 years. Born in Saint John, NB on May 31, 1934 she was the daughter of Flora (McMurray) of Moncton and the late George Sparks. She was a member of The Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Besides her mother, she is survived by her daughter Lisa (Roland) Bourque of Meadowbrook NB; sons Peter (Michelle) Gourley of Midway, NB, and Michael (Bari) Gourley of Rusagonis NB; sister Mary Lou (Calvin) Thurrott of Miramichi, NB; brothers George Sparks (Michel Dumoulin) of Montreal, PQ and Danny Sparks of Saint John, NB; also by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her father she was predeceased by her husband Garnet Gourley in 1977, and her son Stephen in October of 2005. There will be no public visitation. The funeral mass will be held at The Holy Family Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday March 21, 2006 at 11:00 am with Father Jeff Doucett officiating. There will be a reception following the service. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring. In Jean's memory, donations made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by her family.
