Obituary of Josephine "Jo" Sleaver

Josephine "Jo" (Wilson) Sleaver of Riverview, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday December 21, 2006. She was one of eleven children born in Merashien, NF to William and Katherine Wilson. She graduated from St. John's General Hospital School of Nursing in 1952, she retired from nursing in 2001. Josephine was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Her passion throughout life was God, her loving family, and she took great pride in her work of nursing. She and her husband Lloyd Sleaver married in 1953 in East Boston. Besides her husband she will be sadly missed by her children Bill Sleaver of Riverview, Carolyn Vicari (Mark) of Richmond Hill, ON; and Bob Sleaver (Laura Lee) of Riverview; her four adoring grandchildren Ryan, MacKenzie, Brett and Jaeger; three sisters Stach Cochrane of St. John's NF; Margaret Conners of Placentia, NF; and Kathleen Maher of Ottawa; also by countless nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by seven siblings. Visitation will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Friday December 22, 2006 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Fatima Dr. Riverview on Saturday December 23, 2006 at 11:00am by celebrate Fr. Phil Mulligan. Parish prayers and sharing of memories will be held at the funeral home Friday evening at 8:30pm.
