The family of Jeannette Touchie wish to share the news of her passing on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Maison Albert in Moncton at the age of 83. Born in 1939 in Moncton, New Brunswick to parents Colin and Élodie (Leblanc) Chisholm, Jeannette grew up in Dieppe, helping at the family’s Chisholm Motel and Cabins. Alongside sisters Colleen and Carol, Jeannette learned from her parents the value of hard work, and a sense of humour. After studies, she worked as a secretary at the CNR Engineering Division, where she met the fellow she’d been waiting for: Boyd. They were married in 1963, and started a loving, and fun-loving family. Jeannette enjoyed an active life. She loved to ski, both downhill and cross-country. She skated, curled and got out for daily walks. She enjoyed her years at the cottage ("Dis is It") in Caissie Cape, where she had a vegetable garden and spent a lot of time swimming. She was the secretary for the Engineers’ Wives group for years. An avid bridge player, playing in competitions every winter. She enjoyed travel especially her trips to Scotland, England and Italy. Also, she loved the south in the winter with many trips to Florida, and the Caribbean islands. Jeannette was always looking after the landscaping at the family home on Walsh Street. Tending her many flowers and rose bushes. Jeannette spent countless hours canvassing for the Kidney Foundation and the Heart and Stroke Foundation giving generously to support the organizations that have helped her family and friends over the years. Always quick to lend a hand to people going through rough times she could be counted on to do "whatever it takes" to get things done.
