Obituary of John Edward Donahue
John Edward Donahue, of Irishtown,NB passed away with family by his side at his residence on Monday evening, December 10, 2007 at the age of 83 years.
Born in Irishtown, NB on August 25, 1924 he was the son of the late Edward J. and Effie (Dowd) Donahue. John was retired from the Canadian National Railways after serving many years as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church.
Left with fond memories are his daughters Marilyn McCleary, Carolyn Harpell, and Debbie Atkinson all of Irishtown; son John E. Donahue of Tabor Alberta; sisters Margaret Budd, Helen Donahue, Edith Meredith, and Kathleen Savage all of Moncton; special friend Tellesa Cholmondeley of Shediac; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Bodechon) Donahue in 1995; sister Florence Cassidy; brother Joseph Donahue; son in law Kenneth McCleary; brothers in law Walter Cassidy and Laurie Savage.
At his request private family services will be held in the spring.
Interment will be in St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
