Obituary of Lornette "Lori" Snider

Lornette Snider, 78, of Riverview, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Born in Melrose, NB. in 1937, Lornette was the daughter of the late Edward J. Mitton and Mary Little. Lornette was very proud of her community and gave back freely and graciously in more ways than we will ever know. She was constantly giving and caring for others. She truly was the Queen of Riverview. Lori was presently the King Lion of the Riverview Lions and was active in all capacities; including Chair of Daffodil Campaign, Lions-Catering, Town of Riverview Seniors Round Table Discussion Group, District and Multiple Events, Riverview Winterfest, Dragon Boat Race, & board member of Lions Sick Children Fund to name at few. Whatever capacity Lori served she gave it her all. Never concerned about herself, it was always about others. This dedication and determination was evident when at an early age, Lornette held down 2 jobs while she went back to school to pursue a career in accounting. She always had time for the other things she loved, her family, grandchildren, friends, her summers in Shediac, teddy bears, the odd glass of wine and of course her being a second mother and a big sister to several. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years Wayne Snider of Riverview; their children Steven (Patty) Snider, Kim (David) McIver all of Dartmouth, NS and Troy (Paula) Snider of Lower Sackville, NS; eight grandchildren Patrick (Amy), Shamus, Laurie-Anne (Tim) and Liam Snider, Max and Spencer McIver, Lauren and Katie Snider; brothers Albert Mitton (Dorothy) and Eugene Mitton (Myrna) all of Riverview, sisters Eva Plourde of Manitouwadge, ON and Margaret Hicks (Claude) of Moncton; her in laws Bernard Snider (Glendine), Vaughn Snider (Lois) all of Hillsborough and Thelma Steeves (Don) of Saint John, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant daughter Shelley and by two sisters Eileen Mitton and Shirley Boal. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 7 to 9pm and Friday, January 23, 2015 from 2 to 4pm & 7 to 9pm.
