She worked in PEI after graduating from High School, and in 1938 she moved to Vancouver and worked at the Pension Board. In 1952 she returned to PEI, working at the Charlottetown Hospital. Early in her marriage she worked at Eatons. She and Millan travelled extensively in Canada and the U.S. both by train and car, visiting friends and relatives. After Millan’s death Muriel continued to travel with friends and her sister Helen, including many trips with Nancy’s Tours. She was a member of Trinity United Church, a charter and life member of the UWC, member of the CN Pensioner’s Group, member and past president of the Riverview Senior Citizen’s Club, volunteered at Lakeview Manor, and was very active in events in Lakeview Towers and so enjoyed meeting other seniors on Wednesday mornings at Riverview Superstore. She is survived by step-children David, Moncton; Ena Mae (Joseph) Hood, Riverview; Robert (Betty), Ottawa; step-grandchildren Susan, Bruce, Barbara, Douglas, Sandy; four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and husband, all her siblings Helen Sellick, Ada Dercole, Keir, Mellick, Fulton, Lorne and Gordon; step-grandson Alan; and several nieces and nephews.
