Obituary of Winona "Winnie" L. Douthwright

Winona L. Douthwright, 96, formerly of Watson Ave. Moncton; passed away at Salvation Army Lakeview Manor in Riverview, on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Born in MacLean Settlement, NB on April 16, 1920; she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Olevia (Jones) MacLean. She was a retired employee of Woolworth Co. Ltd. Winnie enjoyed crossword puzzles, however her greatest love was keeping close and in touch with her grandchildren. Left with fond memories are her three daughters Kay Smith (Jim) of Lutes Mountain, Linda Vautour (the late Aurele) of Dieppe and Elsa Sage (Don) of Moncton; her two sons Alan Douthwright (Brenda) of Lutes Mountain and Glen Douthwright (Joanne) of Moncton; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews. Winnie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James "Bud" Douthwright in 2012 ; by a son James Douglas in 1949; also by eight siblings. Resting at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Friday, May 6, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton, NB Donations in Winnie's memory made to the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor Memorial Fund would be appreciated by her family.
