Obituary of Morris Alton Chaulk
Morris Chaulk, 82, husband of Bertha Chaulk, of Riverview, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital in Moncton, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Born in Pearl River, Labrador, he was the son of the late Olin and Ida (Groves) Chaulk.
Prior to retirement, Morris was employed with the Department of Transport, Newfoundland & Labrador Housing, and the Department of Public Works - all in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
As a younger man he enjoyed and shared the great outdoors with his family, hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. There was never a project too small for Morris, he was always the "go-to" guy for advice or a consult on family projects. He was always there for family and friends.
A loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, sister, and friend, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years Bertha, his children Joy Roark (Richard) of Capitola, CA, Brent Chaulk (Sherry) of Guelph, ON and David Chaulk (Bridget) of Moncton; his ten grandchildren Danielle, James, Michael, Jennifer, Marissa, Jennifer, Michael, Aimee, Andrew and Alyssa; his 10 great-grandchildren Jordan, Luke, Aubrianna, Shayla, Christina, Jaxon, Beatrix, Margaret, Mikayla, and Madilyn; his sister Shirley Hefler (the late Vilroy) of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Derrick "Dick" Chaulk (Judy) of Cole Harbour, NS; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Lily Chaulk.
Honouring Morris' request, cremation has taken place.
A Funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview, NB on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1 PM, with the Reverend Chris VanBuskirk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Morris' memory can be made to Them Days magazine, in Happy Valley-Goose Bay (themdays.com).
